RBI's 610th Central Board Meeting Reviews Economic Outlook and Operational Performance

The 610th meeting of the Central Board of Directors of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) took place in Mumbai, chaired by Governor Shri Shaktikanta Das. During the meeting, the Board undertook a comprehensive review of both the global and domestic economic scenarios, focusing on current challenges and future outlooks. This evaluation aimed to provide a clear understanding of the economic landscape and inform strategic decisions.


In addition to economic assessments, the Board examined various operational aspects of the RBI. This included an appraisal of the functioning of Local Boards and the activities of select Central Office Departments, ensuring that the RBI's operations align with its strategic objectives and regulatory responsibilities.


Key attendees included Deputy Governors Dr. Michael Debabrata Patra, Shri M. Rajeshwar Rao, and Shri T. Rabi Sankar, along with Directors of the Central Board such as Shri Satish K. Marathe, Smt. Revathy Iyer, Prof. Sachin Chaturvedi, Shri Venu Srinivasan, Shri Pankaj Ramanbhai Patel, and Dr. Ravindra H. Dholakia. The meeting was also attended by Shri Ajay Seth, Secretary of the Department of Economic Affairs, and Shri Nagaraju Maddirala, Secretary of the Department of Financial Services, highlighting the collaborative effort in overseeing the nation's monetary and financial policies.
