The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has introduced the RBI90Quiz, a nationwide quiz competition aimed at undergraduate students, to commemorate the RBI’s 90th anniversary. The quiz is structured to increase awareness about the RBI and the financial ecosystem among young students. It features a multi-tiered format beginning with an online phase, progressing through state and zonal rounds, and culminating in a national final.
The launch of the RBI90Quiz was officially announced by Governor Shri Shaktikanta Das on August 20, 2024. Governor Das expressed confidence that the quiz would significantly contribute to fostering financial literacy and promoting responsible financial behaviour among students. He highlighted the RBI’s ongoing efforts to encourage secure and informed usage of digital financial products through its public awareness campaigns.
The competition offers significant prizes across various levels. The national final will award ₹10 lakh for first place, ₹8 lakh for second place, and ₹6 lakh for third place. At the zonal level, winners will receive ₹5 lakh, ₹4 lakh, and ₹3 lakh respectively, while the state-level prizes are ₹2 lakh, ₹1.5 lakh, and ₹1 lakh.
