The Insolvency and Bankruptcy Board of India (IBBI) has extended the deadline for filing forms related to the liquidation and voluntary liquidation processes under the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, 2016 (IBC).
Initially set to be filed by 30.09.2024, this date was further extended to 30.11.2024 by IBBI Circulars No. IBBI/LIQ/76/2024 and No. IBBI/LIQ/77/2024. However, based on representations received from liquidators and Insolvency Professional Agencies (IPAs), citing technical challenges in submitting the forms, IBBI has now extended the final deadline to 31.12.2024.
Additionally, the responsibility for filing these forms lies with the Insolvency Professionals (IPs) currently handling the respective liquidation processes. In cases where an application for closure or dissolution has been filed or an order has been passed, the IP under whose tenure the application or order was made will be responsible for filing the relevant forms. This extension is issued under the powers vested in IBBI by Section 196(1) of the IBC.
