The Second Annual Research Workshop will be held on 1st & 2nd March 2025 at the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIMA), focusing on the Insolvency and Bankruptcy sector, with particular attention to Insolvency Professionals. This workshop is supported by:

Accommodation and food will be provided for selected PhD students presenting papers.

Concept:
The workshop addresses the growing academic interest in Insolvency and Bankruptcy in India, especially following the enactment of the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code (IBC) 2016 and the establishment of the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Board of India (IBBI). Key objectives of these regulations include:
Business revival and resolution as a going concern
Maximization of the asset value of the Corporate Debtor
Promotion of entrepreneurship, credit availability, and stakeholder interests
Aim:
The workshop aims to explore the role of Insolvency Professionals within the insolvency ecosystem, which is central to the insolvency and bankruptcy process. Topics include:
Role and responsibilities of Insolvency Professionals
Interaction with Committees of Creditors
Code of Conduct and Discipline
Relationship with Courts
Continuing Training and Development
Firm Revival and Experience
Professional Associations and IBC Reforms
The workshop seeks interdisciplinary contributions from finance, law, economics, behavioural science, sociology, and management. The expected papers can be theoretical, empirical, quantitative, or practice-based.

The workshop is open to faculty, practitioners, full-time researchers, PhD students, and Post-Doctoral scholars.
Call for Papers:
Approximately 15-20 papers will be selected.
Papers can be full drafts, working papers, or those under review in journals.
The selection process will be managed by the IIMA faculty team.
