Engagement of Research Associates in Law at the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Board of India (IBBI) on a Contract Basis

The Insolvency and Bankruptcy Board of India (IBBI), established under the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, 2016, has invited applications for the engagement of Research Associates (RAs) on a contract basis to support its functions under the Code. The following are the key details of the notice:

Position and Vacancy Details

  • Position: Research Associate (Level II)

  • Discipline: Law

  • Number of Vacancies: 4

Engagement Period

  • Initial engagement: One year

  • Extension: Possible extension by one more year based on requirements and performance.

Qualifications and Eligibility (Annexure A)

Essential:

  1. LL.B. or equivalent from a recognized university or institution.

  2. Qualified to be enrolled as an Advocate under the Advocates Act, 1961.

Desirable:

  • Consistent high academic performance.

  • LL.M. or Doctoral Degree in Law or related fields from a reputed institution.

  • Degree, Diploma, or Certification in Regulatory Law, Business Law, or Economics.

Experience Requirement

  • 3 to 5 years of employment, practice, or research experience in NCLT/NCLAT/IBBI/IBC or related fields.

Compensation

  • Monthly remuneration: ₹80,000 with a 10% annual increase.

  • Deadline: 6th November 2024.

  • Candidates must upload PDF copies of relevant certificates and documents to substantiate their claims (e.g., date of birth, qualifications, experience).

  • If grades are provided, candidates should enter both grades and equivalent percentages as per their institution’s norms.

  2. Experience in insolvency-related fields (e.g., NCLT/NCLAT/IBBI) should be specified explicitly.

  3. Incomplete applications or those with deficient documents will be rejected.

  5. Shortlisted candidates will be required to submit self-attested copies and produce original documents during the verification process.

Regulations Governing Engagement

The engagement will be governed by the IBBI (Engagement of Research Associates and Consultants) Regulations, 2017, as amended up to 23rd July 2019. Further amendments, if implemented, may provide an option for RAs to opt for the revised terms and conditions.
