Central Government Appoints 24 New Members to NCLTs

The Central Government, through a Notification dated January 7, 2025, announced the appointment of 24 new members to the National Company Law Tribunals (NCLTs), comprising 11 Judicial Members and 13 Technical Members. These appointments, made under Section 408 of the Companies Act, 2013, are for a tenure of five years from the date the appointees assume charge or until they reach the age of 65 years, whichever is earlier.


The members have been appointed in the pay scale of ₹67,000–₹79,000 (Pre-Revised) or Level 15 in the pay matrix (₹1,82,200–₹2,24,100) as per the 7th Central Pay Commission recommendations.


The newly appointed Judicial Members are:


  1. Justice Jyotsna Sharma

  2. Sunil Kumar Aggarwal

  3. Nilesh Sharma

  4. Ashish Kalia

  5. Vinay Goel

  6. Labh Singh

  7. Rammurti Kushawaha

  8. Brajendra Mani Tripathi

  9. Sushil Mahadeorao Kochey

  10. Mohan Prasad Tiwari

  11. Cheekati Radha Krishna


The Technical Members include:


  1. Reena Sinha Puri

  2. Kavita Bhatnagar

  3. Cmde Siddharth Mishra

  4.  Hariharan Neelakanta Iyer

  5. Shishir Agarwal

  6. Sanjeev Kumar Sharma

  7. Radhakrishna Sreepada

  8. Ravindra Chaturvedi

  9. Rekha Kantilal Shah

  10. Man Mohan Gupta

  11. Banwari Lal Meena

  12. Yogendra Kumar Singh

  13. Simmi Gupta


The notification emphasizes that these appointments aim to enhance the operational capacity of the NCLTs, allowing them to handle the growing caseload under corporate law and the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, 2016. This move underscores the Government's commitment to streamlining dispute resolution in corporate and insolvency matters.
